Account Executive/Outside Sales

Job Type: Full Time
Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent on the Job Experience
Career Level: Associate
Salary: $40,000 annually (+ commission)

This position is responsible for bringing new business into the Company by marketing, promoting and profitably selling products and services to potential customers in person, via phone and email. Also, this role requires a candidate who is comfortable creating a positive public image through involvement in outside professional activities.

The ideal candidate has a history of bringing on new business and hitting sales quotas, and loves the challenge that comes with outbound prospecting in a competitive market.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Must gain an in-depth knowledge about services offered and customer application of those services and effectively sell to clients through initial phone conversations, face-to-face meetings, and tours
  • Will align company solutions with the customer’s strategic objectives
  • Will be proactive in developing elements of sales plan to achieve goals
  • Responsible for preparing responses to RFP (request for proposals) and RFQ (request for quotations)
  • Will commit to continual prospecting efforts through cold calling and pipeline building
  • Create and implement a sales strategy that meets personal sales goals, as well as those set in place by the company
  • Responsible for regular reporting of progress and pipeline status
  • Set sales goals are of the utmost importance and must be maintained monthly, quarterly, and annually
  • Keep open communications and work effectively in collaboration with Operations through formal and informal channels to increase sales of products and services
  • Enhance professional contacts through both community and industry association involvement
  • Networks, develops relationships and builds centers of influence
  • Manage and drive multiple concurrent sales cycles effectively
  • Responsible for generating profitable sales orders
  • In the handoff of new customers from Sales, the Account Executive will finish any necessary steps in the sales process, and marshal operational resources to ensure that customers are properly introduced and acclimated to doing business with TDV using “best practices”

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales or closely related field with three years of relevant sales and industry experience; or equivalent combined education and on the job experience
  • Experience with formal sales training program (Dale Carnegie or similar)
  • Demonstrated skill in presenting to all levels of a company (including ‘C’ level)
  • Experience with business to business sales
  • Willing and able to commit to a systematic sales approach that gets results
  • Proficient PC skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
  • Experience working with a CRM tool
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong background and knowledge of strategic account management, sales process and solution selling
  • Ability to make business decisions and think in broad terms, considering the impact to the entire company
  • Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, etc.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outgoing personality and positive attitude
  • Self -motivated and self-directed
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed quota targets
  • Valid driver’s license and proven safe driving record
