NRC: A National Presence for The Data Vault
I just returned from Dallas, where I attended a semi-annual Board of Directors meeting of the National Records Centers, Inc. (NRC). Seven directors from around the country joined President Michael Lenhard to discuss strategy and the current business of this large commercial records center consortium.
NRC, now based in the New York City area, was formed nearly a decade ago by a group of local records center entrepreneurs who envisioned the need for an organization which could compete in the national market, while delivering the kind of high-touch service that they, as local vendors, provided within their markets.
The concept is simple. Organize under a single umbrella, provide uniform pricing, inventory control and customized invoicing, applying the local service concept to each location of national and regional firms. Added to that is the ability to brainstorm across these independent firms to bring new services and solutions to our clients.
Today, the North American service footprint of NRC is actually larger than any other national records management company, with Affiliates and Agents in over 140 markets in the U.S. and Canada. Locally, The Data Vault provides local service for several national and international companies.
Last year, I was elected Chairman of the Board and have been privileged to work with folks with a huge amount of industry savvy and knowledge. Not only is it a stimulating experience to be a part of directing such a corporation, but there are always takeaways that improve my business skills in Louisville.
And, with the meeting in Dallas, we enjoyed some great steaks!
